I started this thread on paper reviews, but there is no traffic there. Since I can't move a post, I thought I'd just point to it from here where perhaps I should have put it.

I saw the other post and did not reply. But all white paper has all sort of stuff in it.

White paper is really a very very pale blue with uv dyes, titanium dioxide and other clays and whiteners.

Paper without these things would be the same brown that pencilpads and paper towels are.

Just look for white paper with out the high brightness numbers.

Crane makes some nice white papers that are 100% cotton, such as Pearl White.

I would have thought that paper can be bleached white, rather than having to be clay coated or pigmented. Perhaps not white by today's standards, but certainly whiter than grocery bags!
