What a fantastic site! It's not everyday that you stumble upon a whole bunch of folks obsessed with pens, ink, and the like. I actually can't remember what it was that set me on fountain pens, but being a brand new college grad, you wouldn't think it would be hard to remember (although, it might have been the squirting fountain pen in a cartoon or Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade that caught my eye). However, what I do remember is that I've been using the things since I was in junior high school. I picked the little cheapies up at office supply stores and normally got ink all over everything. When I was a little older, I was fortunate to be taught calligraphy under a master calligrapher, which only fueled my obsession for all things that write, but still haven't shaken the ink spattering.
