I recently posted this comment elsewhere on this website.

It was suggested I post it here. Can anyone help me with the history or worth of my Aurora 88 pen?

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can shed light on this pen that I inherited.

I can't tell you much about the history, but that pen looks to be from the 50's. The normal selling price for these in restored, working condition with minor wear is in the neighborhood of $150 USD on the open market (ebay, market place). A retailer will be a bit higher... Pristine can go as high $250-$300 that I've seen, and heavier usage marks of course will take it a bit lower.

These older 88's are quite excellent pens, smooth writers, but the nibs are usually very stiff.

Xavier,
congratulations! You happen to have an original Aurora 88 mark I, with a fairly low serial number. I'd say it belongs to the first year of production, the 1947.
You may want to read more in some previous post like THIS. Or again THIS.

For a short history of the brand you may look HERE.

Best regards and welcome to FPN.

Cheers,
