Posted to Roger yesterday August 25th. A bit delayed due to procrastination and end of summer stuff... Loved all and each of the entries, guys. Great one.

Much to live-up to, then....oh, the pressure biggrin.gif
rogerb
Well, it arrived yesterday (it's now 2.13am on 28th!! why am I still up?)

I spent the whole morning reading and re-reading the fascinating content....... people tell me I have had an 'exciting' life, but I don't think it has had half the dramas experienced by the other contributors ohmy.gif

Thanks, folks...I will get to it soon....promise no BSB this time wink.gif Trouble is, nearly all my inks are rather wet, and have a tendency to bleed-through the Apica...but I'll do my best.

Maybe, if Kimy will share her 'lessons learnt', I will start another one when this is done; I have some small new notebooks from Richard B which I'd expect to be fp-friendly, but they might be a bit thin!
Jimothy
Roger,

back to basics I'm afraid. Try Diamine ink in a Lamy Safari. I accept its not as exotic as some of favourite pens, but its farily dry.

Looking forward to seeing what you;ve all been writing since the last round.

Meh, use more pages! I found myself wishing I hadn't imposed a page limit on entries. I just wanted to keep reading and reading...

The next round will be better for you Roger. The journal to start that round has a mix of Arches and Frankfurt papers. Let your pens flow!
rogerb
Haven't got a Safari, Jim, but have managed to find some dry enough pen/ink combinations smile.gif
I experimented a bit on the very last page before taking the plunge.
The previous experience just made me choose a bit more carefully....don't worry, Kimy smile.gif

But it wouldn't be me if I didn't have some sort of little mishap!

My 72yo Vacumatic was going so well, but suddenly decided to deposit a big 'blob' of Arabian Rose...fortunately right in the top corner of the page and kitchen towel saved the day....I'm sorry, but the free blotters supplied by a certain nibmeister aren't really up to the job, IMO, except, maybe, when they are absolutely brand-new!
As I say, no real damage done...just one page with a bit of extra decoration ....(tell me what you can see in this blot!)
It could've been much worse.....I just feel rather embarrassed at having blotted my copybook biggrin.gif (and yours).

I have just packed it up to send to Jim...don't feel I have done very well this time around...as I said, too many other things going-on in my life just at the moment, maybe.

I didn't do terribly well the first time around, Roger, I really wasn't terribly well at all. Fortunately the tests have all come back normal, though my blood pressure is described as "borderline". I have been told to lose some weight though sad.gif So maybe I'll do better this time around. I'll be waiting out for the postman til it arrives.

I hope I have (told you) but it didn't seem to be (terribly interesting), Ruth wink.gif
For example, why we have, to all intents & purposes, no English-language TV here at present ....went off just after the Olympics Opening Ceremony wallbash.gif
I am trying to get things going on our little urbanisation.

I hope you are feeling much better, Jim. I've battled the high blood pressure. Some time ago, I went in because I almost passed out at work. My doctor freaked when he saw how high it was. I was fortunate in that I only had to take the medicine for 5 years before we got it under control. We still keep a close eye on it, though. Stress is the biggest factor, even over weight. That has been the hardest battle, considering where I work and a few other things.

Keep an eye on yourself, Jim. It's worth it.

If you can't rant to your friends, your blood pressure rises...

We serve a valid, medicinal-type purpose. biggrin.gif

Isn't that what a rant is for...to , literally, 'get it off your chest'? smile.gif

And, today we have a few channels back on the air...so I can at least keep track of World news thumbup.gif

no
Clydesdave
Nuts!
kudzu
Sorry, Clydesdave - it's winging its way to ME! I'm all a-twitter waiting for my 2nd go 'round. But I'll turn it around fast to you, so it won't be long in coming to you.
kudzu
It arrived! It arrived! thumbup.gif
Jimothy
Thank goodness it is safe. I always worry when someone lets it out on its own smile.gif
rogerb
Just entre nous, I now have satellite TV as of yesterday thumbup.gif

It should have been cloud9.gif but, as ever, ther have been snags which will, hopefully be sorted-out today (I have witheld 60% of the payment, so I guess they will be!!)
They put the 1.8m/6ft communal satellite dish on the roof of the one person who has opted-out of the scheme....then implied it was MY fault for not having watched them more carefully ohmy.gif
And they dropped the dish off my balcony....fortunately and luckily with minimal damage to my property and none to me or my animals! However, the dish got bent, so they have to move it and replace it today, before they get paid!

I just wanted them to say "We screwed-up, but we'll put it right tomorrow"......this lack of ability to apologise(all too common, IMO) might make one think they were standing for political office wink.gif

But like the ITJ we are 'getting there' ...it will be nice to have something to shout-at (rather than the dog) as the evenings draw-in !
kudzu
Great news, Roger. Now you'll be able to follow the U.S. election & possible global meltdown in HDTV!
rogerb
Oh, no, not HD yet...waiting for an improved service and cheaper hardware!
kudzu
My apologies for keeping our little journal so long, but it's now off to the safe hands of Clydesdave. What a very nice and interesting group of people we are!
Clydesdave
bunny01.gif Oh Greatest of Joy! Oh Joy to not be contained! I am so looking forward to reading it!

This is like when you have climbed to the top of the mountain, and, you know, you call into the cave to see if the Seer is in there (I do this all the time) and he, like, says "Hello" or something and you know he's like, there. So you're like just sittin' there waitin like, and you KNOW you're going to like, get your question answered and..... well..... that's how I feel!

I can't wait to read it! ..... and then I'm like, going to get to WRITE in it and all. It's kinda like.... signing my name in the book of time or something. bunny01.gif

I think I know JUST what I'm going to write, 'cause it's like Halloween and everything, so like, I'm going to write about my ghost experience I just had and stuff.

Clydesdave
In all seriousness, I look forward to reading it very much. I've met the people, and I am truly excited to read what they have added. I look forward to writing in it again. I don't know what I'm going to write, but I know I have things to say to these friends I've just made. I am greatly enjoying this thing and I thank you for making it happen Kiavonne.

The International Traveling Journal 02, Spain or Bust is now in Southern California! I have it, I've read it and it is very enjoyable!

I'm just hoping that you're not just being kind. I'm sure my dyslexic drivel must have bored people that managed to decypher it.

Never. smile.gif
Clydesdave
Nope, I enjoyed every word.
rogerb
Do we know where this has got to?
Clydesdave
Yes, and I am so sorry to have had it for so long. I'm half way through my story (which I am having a very difficult time writing). I'll finish it up tonight and send it on it's way tomorrow.

Ondina
Clyde is pondering whether to keep it rolling or sending it to the National Shrink's Association to see if any of us are as potentially nutto as we seem. In which case he will hold on to it till it can be use as proof of truth. tongue.gif
Clydesdave
I've tried to explain in a thread titled "Elizabeth is Dead". You'll probably think I'm nuts.

Jimothy
Clutching at the faint straws of sanity:-

who gets it next?

or to put it another way - when is it my turn again?
rogerb
IIRC, Jim, it goes to Kudzu, then back to kiavonne, then starts again with Ondina, me & then you......is that right, Kimi, or have I forgotten someone?

So you're telling me it's going to be ages then.

Time for another single malt while I wait, then.

I am so confused, is this the Kiavonne traveling journal series or the Toulouse traveling journal series, which was funneled through Toulouse and so theoretically everyone got a go at all 6 journals?

-- edited: Oops. Sorry. Saw familiar names and thought it was a different thread: just realized that the Toulouse journal thread has "summer" in the title! My Kiavonne journal/s: MIA bawl.gif

I presume you mean a bottle?
Clydesdave
Ahh, The Bottle. For the first full year I tried to blame the spirit in my home on the spirits of the bottle, but alas, to eventual ruin my plans to stop her by simply replacing the stopper. She is here, with me now in my tiny office at home. I can feel her staring at me from every corner, but never the one I spin to see. Ahh, The Bottle, to the bottle.

rogerb
Are you sure Elizabeth isn't lurking in there? biggrin.gif
