I have just joined this forum, because I just inherited a pen from my grandfather, and I was hoping someone could tell me something about it, and how much it might be worth.
It says Aurora 88 on the top part and on the back of the top part there are the numbers 154089.
The nib is gold, and I think the cover is made from copper.
My grandfather was Italian, born in 1900. I think he bought the pen in Italy before he came to live in Australia.
I did a websearch on the Aurora brand, and it looks like they are made in Torino, Italy.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Not sure, but it looks to be in pretty good condition. Fountain pens are always nice presents to get. Congratulations!

Xavier,
Very nice vintage 88, a very famous and respected pen. It was manufactured with many variations.
If you haven't yet, post this in the Italian pen forum. You'll probably get a full history of the pen.

The top may be
pink or rose gold or it is also called Italian gold. It is a very beautiful coppery color. Copper and gold are alloyed to make it and it is prized for its beauty.
