I wanted to try some onion paper so I ordered a ream from the Paper Mill store and while I was there came across a marker paper. It's a German paper called Scholellershammer (yes, the touch typing class just came in handy). It is similar to the Excompta Black Block paper I have in size and weight, though it is much whiter and not quite as opaque. I've tried a couple of different pens on it, from very wet to dry, and the paper holds up pretty well. Under magnification there was some feathering, but it was not noticeable to me from the naked eye.

One plus is that it is much better bound then the Black Block. Another is that it still available. Oh, and the fact that it is $9.97 for 75 sheets, or $49.97 for a pack of 10. You can find it here. Bright White. 20lb. basis (75 g/m^2). A4 size.

So far, after one whole sheet, I like it, if for no other reason than it won't fall apart like my last two blocks did. While I appreciate the grid on the Excompta paper I like the Scholellershammer (somebody please come up with an abbreviation so I don't have to type that again) more, even though it lacks any sort of grid or lines. It has some tooth but remains smooth, and I just like the white more than the grey of the Excompta.
