it isn't of the vintage he claims and this is just my opinion but there is no practical difference in any 149 after the plastic era started in 1960. there can be some lack of parts interchangeability but as someone who is just using the pen as a writing tool there is really no difference but people seem to always want to break thing down in to little categories and pretend one is better than the next. after having 149's in every variation and era i personally prefer the first plastic era pens { 1960 to the later 60's when the filler became threaded} because you often find very nice nibs in them, other than that it doesn't really matter much except i don't prefer the ones with the brass sleeve in the filler {not really a sleeve but serves no functional purpose} since the piston parts are all plastic anyway.

Good morning,
I want to have an help for know a model of 149 that one of my favourite seller propose me.
He is specialised in new pen but this time he propose me a vintage 149 and he can't say me a lot of good news about the pen.
He say that this pen is from 1955-1958, but the three rings around the cap are all in gold and not silver-gold-silver.
The nib too is in platinum contoured in gold and not gold-silver-gold than in vintage 149.
The last thing that is strange it's that the seller sya me that in the gold ring's cap is engraved "Montblanc Meisterstuck 2 149"; what is this number 2...???
I insert some picture...
I wait your help... I don't want to buy one pen that is not vintage...!!!
Thank's...
Juri
