Tremendous photos. Is the background simply a sheet of paper or is there a light box? I notice the metal reflections are beautiful and free of reflections.

FPN-ers,

Thank you al for the positive comments. While these images improve on the cellphone look, I want to do better :-)

You can make a tremendous improvement with minimal investment (for the cost of a "nice FP"):

Here's a quick pic of my mini studio attempt:

1. Light stand ($24 eBay)
2. 43" Umbrella ($19 B&H)
3. Vivitar 285HV Flash ($89.95 B&H)
4. Wein slave (plugged in flash) ($19.95 B$H)
5. Poster Board (WallMart -sorry- $1.25). This is the seamless piece of paper on top of a shipping carton (free) with two thumb tacks to the wall...

Total $154.15 Makes beautiful pics of your wife/children/dog etc...may help you justify the cost :-)

Thanks for looking!
