Hi,

Well, I am thinking about getting a Pelikan M300, and it seems to appeal to me. From what I know, the nib collar is of better quality than any other of the Souveräns, and the pen seems to be the right size. smile.gif

Can anybody tell me if it is pencil thin?

Exactly how small is it in comparison to the other pens I showed in the Pictures forum?

Finally, if you have a carefully taken care of, green-stripe model with a fine nib you would like to sell with its box and papers, I am right here. I will buy from the Pen gallery soon.

Anyway, a transition from the Tradition series, I have firmly decided that the M150 and M200s don't fit me as they should--a bit too big.

The Writing Desk has measurements (including diameter) here:

http://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/pelikan/souveran.php

I've never written with an M300, but I have seen one in a display cabinet. It struck me as being considerably smaller in every way than an M200 or M400. (The difference in diameter between a 300 and a 400 isn't quite as much as that between a 400 and a 1000, but it's definitely getting there, as you'll see from the link above.)

Woah, that sure is a baby pen. It probably will work for you Dillon smile.gif

Dillo,
What about one of those small Mozart Mont Blancs?
The Sailor Chalana, slim Targa or a slim Sheaffer balance are other suggestions.

I have held one in my local pen shop, it was a 320. Oh my God!! That pen is just so amazing I would have never thought that I would be attracted to such a tiny pen, it is so perfect it is thicker than a pencil, the balance and everything felt right, it was definitly not too small to write with, it is definitly on my list to buy, if you can get one get one!

This line is definitly top quality, that tiny nib, it is such a "cute" pen, I like huge pens, but this small gem caught my eye. Full recommendation from holding and looking at.

Hi,

The Montblanc Mozart is a cartridge filler while the M300 is a piston filler. I have a Sailor Ha-Su-Ka-Ru which is about the same size as the Chalana. smile.gif

Should work--will have to decide on it. smile.gif

My brother has a M300, and it is VERY nice. Because it is a piston filler, it holds lots of ink for its size. It is penicl thin, but it is nice to use. I would recommend it and probably so would he (he collects pens too)

Here's a photo collage from my site that shows how the M300 stacks up in size against the other Tradition and Souverän pens:

If you save this image and print it at 72 dpi, the quality will be lousy but the pens will be shown actual size.

On the page this image comes from, there is also a chart with numerical dimensions given.

Oh, great. Now I'm lusting after the M300. Soren (the spousal sort) doesn't like thick or short pens, but that one might work for him, and if it didn't, well... I'd just have to take care of it, wouldn't I?

It's awfully tiny, Velma. If you decide you don't like it, I'll be happy to provide it a good home...

Hi,

I believe that it is about Kaweco Sport-sized. smile.gif It should be smaller than the Ici Et La. smile.gif

Thinner too! Should be right for me. smile.gif

Wow I didn't realize that Pelikan produced so many tiny pens. That diagram really shows me that there's nothing below a M800 that I'd be comfortable with.

The one I saw is a M320, it like the tiny relative of the Shangihai City Series, it was a great little pen.

Can you post a pic of it next to other sized Pels or other familiar pens?
