Although these are just some quick photos, I thought you might enjoy them. I've purchased a large stock of vintage inks, most of which are still full. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, there were some shipping issues and a few bottles leaked. Mostly, just the boxes got inked and most of the bottles are still in very good shape. This is about 1/3 of what I bought and we should have our shipping system worked out for future shipments. I'll be sure to post photos when I get it all!

Here's what I've got so far:

Here's some of the good stuff. The big bottles are 32oz and the small are 16oz:

Here's a photo for reference. The small Skrip is a 2oz bottle, the small Quink is a 4oz bottle:

Hi,

Those bottles seemed to have been in the War. It amazes me after all these years a lot of these large ink bottles show up, and sometimes in excellent condition.

Come to think of it, there's some large Skrip Ink bottles on eBay as well. Is there any good information you could pass on about these large bottles?

Pretty Cool,

Shamouti

John, that small Quink bottle in the bottom photo, when does that date from? 1940s, right? I've been trying to find one at the flea-market lately. I almost found a match last week...pity...

John, have you tried any of the ink in the bottles yet? If so, you'll have to let us know what you think. I've had three or four of the inks that you've got there (Quink Blue, Blue/Black, Red, and Sheaffer Washable Emerald) and my favorite was the Emerald. Oh, that was luscious. Such fantastic stuff. Well-behaved, great color, etc. Even came in one of those big quart bottles! Wish I still had it!

Most of these date from 1940-1950's. I think some of the bottles that I have yet to receive are older, from the 1930's. It seems that the Skrip bottles are the easiest to find for some reason. You'll see them fairly often on eBay or once in a while you'll see one in an antique shop. Unfortunately, they're empty most of the time.

I'm in the process of trying to gather advertisements that picture all of these bottle styles to try and date them more accurately. Once I get the entire collection together, I'll do a nice info-post.

Yup, that bottle was used in the late 30's to early 40's. Keep your eyes open on the forum here. I have some extras I might be getting rid of soon!

Not yet. I've been so busy trying to get everything organized and stored, I have not had a chance to fill up with any of this yet. Because of this purchase, I've had to completely reorganize and relocate my collection in my house. I'm still working on it, but it's getting there!

I doubt I'd be able to pay for one, John, I was just curious. But I am looking for one. I've been scouring flea-markets and antique/junk-shops for quite a few months now, looking for a nice 1930s/1940s Quink-bottle. I like the styling on the bottle and I think they look nicer than the current ones.
