I recently acquired this Sheaffer pencil. I have never seen one like it before. Is this a legit model, or is this a golf pencil body married to a different cap?

I think it is legit. I've seen others with flat tops - they do seem out of the ordinary, though. Yours would look nice with a 5-30 or 7-30 with the black end bands.

I don't really look at the pencils but, when I was going through a freinds collection I did note the two flat top golf pencils that he had and we both commented they were a bit different. They were both Jade as far as I recollect but, I don't necessarily remember black banding...
