I saw it at my local boutique yesterday and i honestly fell in love with it .. a VERY beautiful pen indeed ... the shark leather combined with the dark mother of pearl stone and the platinum plating all look amazing together ... the Boheme line in general is very elegant in my humble opinion ..

but when i asked asbout the price .. i was suprised at how expensive it was .. it cam out to the equivalent of 2150.00 approx !! is it overpriced here in our local boutique in Kuwait .. or is this the price it retails for ??

i paid alot more for pens before .. but usually .. they were limited editions .. this is not limited so how come ??

Any opinions ??

thanks
Deirdre

Thanks alot Deirdre for the help ... that is exactly what i needed to know ... but now i wonder why are the prices so different when we are talking suggestedretail price and from official Montblanc butiques .. ??

should not the boutiques have a unified pricing system with the currency exchange the only difference ?? that is how all other brand name stores do it like LV and Gucci .. prices are the same wherever you go .. sometimes cheaper in out arab countries cause our goverment does not apply taxes .. so we are tax free in a way ...

but in this case the pen price differs up to 300 dollars which is not little at all ... ??

Montblanc boutiques sell at MSRP.

No, because then the US would really get hit with higher pen prices. (Frequently a pen will be 99 Euros in the EC and $99 here in the US, so I'd rather it not suddenly be $150.)

Besides, the difference in US Montblanc prices and Kuwait Montblanc prices might well be taxes, import fees, shipping fees, duty, and any other fees. That could easily add up to $300. U.S. sales taxes are added on after the price, but that's not true in every country.

I love that pen and am hoping to buy it one day as well smile.gif I was looking for it earlier last year and found it in Dubai for USD 1,600 but didn't buy it. A few days ago I saw it again for USD 1,470 although its retail price is around USD 1,800.

The thing is, for an additional USD 400 or so you can get a nice LE this is pretty much what I am trying to decide on before making my move.
