I have some auctions up on Ebay right now, and someone asked if they could have the serial number...
I guess first...
Why would someone need this?
And whats the damage if I give them this number?
I see some auctions blocking out the serial number, are the replicas really using actual serial numbers, or am I being paranoid???
I did see the post on the EN1340225 number...
Just curios on everyones thoughts...
Thanks,
B

Forgers want serial numbers to engrave onto their own phoney-baloney pens. That's why they're never included in the item-descriptions. I would say: "Hold off with the number". But if you want to do it, go ahead...

Well, I went ahead and asked the buyer why he/she wanted it, and have not received a response yet... I will be curious on what he/she says if any...

This might have been me!

I always ask the seller a question before I buy anything worth more than $50 or so to make sure they are decent at communications, and after I saw that post on number EN1340225 I decided to ask what the serial number was. (I also have another number I suspect is fake.) Was the auction for a a 144, and did I also ask if it came with the box?

HA!
Funny! It had to have been you... Well at least its good to know that it wasn't someone trying to steal the number... What number do you suspect to also be a fake?
Cheers!

PS he/she did ask if it has a box and it is a 144...

A while ago on eBay I saw a seller with a 144 where the cap band and the nib both looked wrong, and the seller had only a small number of feedback, all from selling MBs. (The latter doesn't prove anything, but I think it is a good indicator of someone selling knockoffs.) In one of the pictures you could see part of the serial number, "74823," so I wrote it down. I don't want to claim I *know* it is a fake serial number without any further evidence, however, since I only saw the pen in pictures.
