I am originally from Spain (they make Inoxcrom pens there), but I met a wonderful Texan woman and now I live in the great city of Houston. I have written with fountain pens since I was in college, and here I have discovered ebay and the wonderful world of Snorkel pens.

I have a bunch of Sheaffer school pens (and I use ALL of them). I bought a couple of Bexleys fun time and I decided to stop using cartridges and working with ink from Private Reserve (I was drooling the other day in the store buying it, so many choices... embarrassed_smile.gif ).

I have bought 2 Snorkels from Ebay... I filled one yesterday and I LOVE IT... it is a pity the other one is not working...

I am just a humble pen aficionado, and I am very proud of having the honor of meeting a lot of experts here.

Thank you for this forum.

Howdy and welcome aboard the FPN Forums. I also like Sheaffer Snorkels very much, and this reminds me that I need to send a few of them in for repair. They are NOS, but I don't trust the O-ring, and bladder very much at their age to hold ink, so I will have them refurbished.

You will find a lot of Snorkel fans here at the FPN, so you will be in good company. thumbup.gif

I am a Sheaffer fan myself. My first two pens were Sheaffers, and I foresee a Snorkel or two in my future.

HI and welcome!

Hmmm... this thing about Scheaffer... everybody seems to havee one or more but I don't yet. So I guess something from that brand I'll have to get next. Thanks!!

I discovered them when I came to the U.S.A. and I loved them. Just check the Snorkel from the 50's... they are so cool.

Thank you everybody, I will probably ask a lot of questions but I am glad I am with people who loves fountain pens like me. I love them more with the heart than with the head, but I am happy I have found this webpage.

Bienvenido a bordo. Yes, Sheaffers are amazing pens. You will have lots of fun there.

Hi:

We have two common interests.....

Firstly, a big fan of Shaeffer myself. Inherited a PFMV from my father. Have a Prelude for last ten years. Have had a series of No Nonsense.... and just ordered a TD set in Green from the fifties and a GF No Nonsense in Marbled Blue. When I was school boy I was in love the old reminder clip mechanism ballpens.... I still have one.

Finally, I have very fond memories of Inoxcrom instruments. Had a steel fountain pen and a couple of ball pens. Very solidly built. Would you be able to recommend me a place to buy them at a reasonable price ?

Also, If any other collector in Houston apart from you is interested in getting together once a month or so in Houston and share his or her collection with like minded individuals - I am definitely interested.

I get so lonely.... my wife thinks I am wasting time in collecting pens. None of my friends share my hobby.

I live in the Woodlands. Let me know. We can all meet at an agreed location.

Good Luck.

I just bought 2 new sheaffer snorkels from Ebay, from the same person I bought the first (somebody from Boston), restored, I love them...

MSA, I understand, it happens the same to me with the fountain pens. But I bought my wife a pink Bexley and she likes it. I bought a lot of pink cartridges, but now my wife want me to use ink converters..

Greetings to everybody.

Well howdy from just up the road (I-45).
You might amuse the folks here about what we consider a "short drive".

Thanks SS.

Just got back from an official trip from Germany.

Bought two pens. One Lamy Logo FP in brushed steel and one Lamy CP1 twin in Black Titanium oxide coating from Celle, Germany. Celle is a small historic town close to Hanover. This is in addition to the Lamy 2K bought from a fellow FPN' er earlier in the month.

I found pens a little expensive in Germany but observed a greater variety of German pens of course.

Feeling good. Lamy's make me happy!

Anybody knows anything about the Lone Star Pen Club in Houston ?

I'm in Houston too. Am returning to fountain pens after a long time but the collection is building fast! Would be interested if there is a meet planned (especially if it's in a bar wink.gif).
