I would like some suggestions for s flip top memo pad that can be carried in a shirt pocket. Someone suggested a memo pad similar to the ones policemen use. I have a moleskin but it's too big for the pocket. I believe moleskine has a smaller version, but wonder if anyone has used it. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Hi,
I use a Rhodia pad No. 11 (2.9 x 4.1 inch). The pad is stapled along one short end and has a stiff back. I find it just about right for shirt pockets - not too big and not too thick. they do make a slightly larger one but it is a tad big for most of my pickets if I want to carry a pen as well. the paper in mine has a faint violet cross hatch pattern (5mm x 5mm I believe), but they may be available with lines only. The vellum style paper is very FP friendly and the sheets remove easily. These can be had with a nicely made vinyl cover (black or orange) that protects the pads as well. I bought mine at the B & M Art Brown store, but I bet you can get them from one of the usual on-line sources (I think Pendemonium stocks them as "3.5 x 4.5 leatherette" pads). I highly recommend Rhodia and Pendemonium as well - no affiliation just a satisfied customer.
An alternative I have tried is the Levenger "circa"system. they have a number of sizes of card stock paper that is easily removed from circular rings. They also come with vinyl covers that also also attached (and removable) via the rings. I don't like the paper as much - for me it is a bit too absorbent so my wetter FPs bleed a bit.
Cheers,
Tom
