Paper Mate, manufacturer of ballpoints and pencils, produced in the '80s some very good quality fountain pens. But as far as I know, there were only a few models produced until the early '90s. However, Paper Mate seems to be back as a brand producing fountain pens. Noticed on eBay some sellers from Germany and the UK selling new Paper Mate fountain pens like these
schoolpens and the
Surpassion model. Has anyone tried these pens? Does anyone know where these pens are made?

Newell Rubbermaid ( the Parker, Waterman, Sharpie, Sanford folks ) still owns the PaperMate trademark and occasionally put it on fountain pens when a brand manager gets an "idea". Usually they keep it on the lower end market niches, although, if they wished, they could slap it on an Edson Special body and market it to the jewelry trade. This will never happen as all Marketing people remember things like the Cadillac Cimarron.
