This is something I wouldn't have noticed in a non-demonstrator, but in the gripping section of my vista (inside the barrel), ink is leaking out and blots are appearing. This has no noticeable effects on its performance, but I find it a little disturbing. Is there anything I can do about this?

In the section of your Lamy Vista, you should see an area with a large number of fins. The fins are there to provide an ink feed buffer to the nib. You should see ink there, in a greater or lesser amount, according to how much you write, air pressure, ink viscosity, whether you have stored the pen vertically or horizontally, and the like.

Visible ink in the section is what a demonstrator is all about.
