I've been a member for about a month or so and have written maybe ten comments on various threads. "My Assistant" is a great tool to help me check in with threads where I have left comments. It seems that mine is always the last comment. I guess I know how to kill a conversation. I'll understand if no one adds a reply to this one.
But seriously, I am a smart guy! My wife and I have raised three great children. The younger two boys are gratuating high school and college this month. I'm an architect. I like to sketch ideas and write in my notebooks. I love pens for a number of different reasons. One is just watching the ink flow out of the pen as I write. Writing with a fountain pen gives me a link to the past when letters were the primary form of written history. Now I spend more time typing in little boxes on a computer monitor.

Welcome from Western Canada.
Watching the ink flow out of a nib is a bad sign. It has been shown to lead to fountain pen addiction. If you like using your pens for sketching as well as writing, you may be a hopeless case. But fear not – this is not the support group for recovering styloholics. It the the Styloholism Ward, and we are all the patients uh, inmates really nice people.

I am routinely a thread-killer even when I don't mean to be, so welcome to the club. And welcome to FPN, by extension.

Don't worry. It just means that once you have bestowed your wisdom, no one else has anything worth adding.

Welcome to the boards.

My real name is Thread Devastator.
Several times happened that I started a new thread, with zero replies...
So, welcome to the club.

Hi there, MD!
No one can kill a thread like me! And lock 'em, too!

Welcome to FPN. I've ended a thread or two also. Don't worry about it.

Now the question is.. who will be the terminal poster in this thread and be crowned the king/queen thread killer?

Well.... I was the last 2 or 3 posters in my own "New Member" thread....
I don't even want to know what that counts for

I'm clever, but here I am almost to page 2, where no one will look.

It could be a sign of superiority--you make a post and no one can refute or add to what you've said; case closed.

Of course, it doesn't look like it worked out that way this time.

Don't feel bad. Sometimes I think I'm on everyone's ignore list as I can't find more than 5 or 6 post where someone responded to what I posted out of 200 or so posts now...

Hi there. Ditto. Me too. The worst thing (maybe) is when I ask a question and nobody answers, I still end up as the first and/or last culprit with an answer I found somewhere else (like after phoning up the manufacturer).
No worries!

We have these real ramblers at work during our staff meetings...I'd love to stop them dead in their tracks and save us all from their blathering nonsense. Do you give classes or for hire for this conversation killing??? I've not found a blathering nonsense ray-gun yet, but I continue looking.

Wow! The replies have been great! I never thought the "New members" thread was such a popular place to chat. I'll be sure to check it regularly. And I'm glad to know I'm not alone. The irony is, I like to be alone
