I don't know if I break any rules here, but I thought some may be interested in a EBay Galileo FP auction going on. (330233722325)

Don't know the seller, but the Galileo is is one heck of a nice pen that doesn't show up too often.

Seconded! It's spectacular in the flesh! And each specimen looks different!
Deirdre
It's also going for a steal, at least until the snipers kick in. wink.gif

True! I've seen numerous auctions like that. They shoot up like crazy during the last minute or even during the last 10 seconds. I'll be curious to see how this one ends.
RedRob
Ended at $763, a very decent price, while not a steal, for a pen approaching the $1000 mark otherwise.

Did you see the old style blue royale Paragons John Mottishaw is selling on his website for $895?
Deirdre
MikoB1 got it! biggrin.gif

At least it went to an FPN buddy.
lterry
Yeah, I was beaten by $10 near the end. Enjoy the pen MikoB1. :-) I'll try again next time.

Isn't that MSRP? I once bought a scarlet Paragon from him. It was also MSRP $895 on their web site. But without even having asked for it, they gave me the usual 20% discount off the list price.

He is also saying the following (which wouldn't make any sense if there were no discount off the MSRP):

We can make nib modifications and still offer this pen for less than the retail price.
RedRob
I guess this is the price. There's no MSRP any more. It's well worth the price since it will have a "flawless writing" guarantee that Omas obviously wasn't able to provide. That's the closest you can get to a trying a pen in a brick and mortar store without actually doing so.

PS Last time I checked, I think Art Brown also sold a Paragon blue royale and Joon a Paragon in grey marble (not the Galileo).

Yes, but last time I bought my old style scarlet Paragon from Mottishaw (it was the last one, and they had been out of production already for some time), he treated the old price still as MSRP (and then gave me a 20% rebate from that) which I found extremely fair and nice. So maybe he'll handle the blue ones the same way.
