What nib size did you have on the 2000?

It's a fine. The Safari is a medium and the Al-Star is a broad that I ground to be somewhat italic.

Nice review. I like the blurple. Be careful with the baystate blue in Lamy Al-Stars/Safaris. I had the nib snap off on mine using BSB, as did many other people.

Thank you a lot for the posting and the comparison! I love Baystate Blue, I begin to love the colour of Concord Grape and maybe I have to get a bottle of them both in order to mix Baystate Purple! Wow ...

However, the Blurple doesn't look like Tanzanite to me, but nontheless, it's a very beautiful colour, I adore it.

What results will bring mixing either Blue or Concord Grape with Cape Cod Cranberry? I expect the worst, but I', just curious about it ... biggrin.gif

I'd need to experiment with this, because I love blurple, but frankly I like the concord grape straight, so I may just stick to that.

Many people think Concord Grape is a mix of BSB and Cranberry. That seems to be supported by BSB having good water resistance, Cranberry having none, and Grape in the middle. Also, when water hits Grape a color that looks like Cranberry runs off. Still, it's worth exploring different mixes.

I really like Concord Grape straight up, too. The mix is nice for subtle variety. I'm hoping Nathan will give us a couple more colors in the Baystate line to play with.

That's quite interesting ... hm ... hm ... I didn't aimed to buy Cranberry because I dislike pinkish inks but just because I'd like to explore if the suspection is true I think I'm going to get a bottle lticaptd.gif

Baystate Blurple looks a lot like Tanzanite on my monitor. Nice color.
