YES, only 28 days until the start of the 5th Annual Raleigh Pen Show
This is one of the nicest, friendliest shows on the circuit. Not the biggest, but definite one of the nicest and IMO one of the best.
There are three absolutely stunning pens valued between $495 to $850 MSRP being given away on June 6, 7, and 8... see the above link for pictures...
It is being held at the
Embassy Suites Hotel
201 Harrison Oaks Blvd
Cary, NC
Phone 919 677-1840
This is one of the nicest venues for a show... the hotel includes free breakfast and a managers reception each night with hot and cold hors' doeuvres You will be able to get your nib worked on by Richard Binder (get there early in the morning) and your pens repaired by Ron Zorn.
David Isaacson will also be on hand so you can drool at his fantastic selection of pens...
Aside from these notables will be some of the finest dealers in collectible and modern pens.
For your significant other who might not enjoy wandering around watching you drool over pens, Raleigh NC is close by with some wonderful sightseeing and history.
Come on down and join us the weekend of June 5-8, 2008 for a wonderful pen community experience.
This show is being dedicated to the memory of Sonya Mawhorter who recently passed away. Sonya was the co-organizer of the show with her husband Terry.
She was the shining light that greeted everyone coming through the doors of the show and shall be deeply missed.

I am looking forward to attending this year. I had to miss the past three years due to scheduling conflicts.

Just to add to the reasons for going to Raleigh this year..
I will be there with a boat load of 51s for sale and also some very nice Vacumatics...
At last count I will have at least 25 Parker 51 Vacs and have not counted the Aeros yet...
I will also have some brand new in the box Hero 616 pens

I look forward to seeing you all there! I can't wait to see more vintage pens up close.
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Mawhorter.

Looks like I will only be browsing and buying inks, as I used pen money that I had set aside to purchase a Stipula Florentia this morning. No regrets, I have wanted one for quite a while.

My sister and I will be there again this year. Hoping to drag the spouse along so he can see I'm not the "only one" out there. Maybe if he sees David's collection he'll feel better about my modest collection of pens.

This week we mailed out post cards to all of our clients in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, to encourage them to come to the show. But don't think we want to limit attendance to people in those states -- if you live elsewhere and can come, all I can say is
BE THERE!

I'm so there, can't wait, had a wonderful time last year.
If you see me, say hi, I'm hard to miss, look for a big guy zooming around on a blue powerchair, wearing some type of Virginia Tech clothing...

I will not make it this year, but since my god-daughter and her parents now live in North Carolina, I'm seriously thinking about making a trip that just happens to coincide with next year's show, gods willing. It sounds as if it would be lovely, and I envy those of you who will be there.

Hello!
I'm relatively new to FPN and will be moving to Chapel Hill/Durham this summer. Am looking forward to attending my first pen show and meeting some of the penfolk in the Triangle area!

Welcome to the area Susan!
I am sure you will meet some of the fine members of the Triangle Pen Club at the show.
Here is a weblink that will give you more information about the club and its regular meetings.
