I normally try to use components that are simple in design so the binde and the hardware do not compete for attention.
I purposely set out in this pen to add "bling" with the hardware.
Full sized Emperor in black veneer, aluminum and brass.

Your veneers are outstanding. I would prefer to see the brass replaced by something with less bling, but that's just my taste.

As it is, the brass in the binde is understated.
Are you referring to the 22K accents on the hardware?

Yes, I was referring to the accents on the hardware. I apologize for referring to them as "brass". I know better; I just wasn't thinking.

It is a lot of bling. Flavor Flav would be proud. biggrin.gif Nice composite. What's the black veneer? Is that the dyed wood veneer stuff that places like Woodcraft have?

I don't know who Flavor Flav is but I am glad he would be proud.(I think)
Yes the dyed Veneer is available @ Woodcraft.
I get it from the distributor, Sauers Veneers out of North Carolina.
A word of note.
It is available in natural exotics and N.A. hardwoods also.
The ebony and black are within a few dollars of each other but I use the dyed in this case because of uniformity of color

Rap music being an oxymoron by morons
btboone
Not the rap, just the bling. The fancy gold stuff reminds me of his "grill." biggrin.gif
