It's possible to clean out an X-Pen, but you can't flush it the way you can a 61. The capillary material is a gauze-type fabric that does not hold up well over time, and the chances are that the only way to restore the pen to use may be to replace the capillary material. It might also be necessary to replace the blotter material that wicks ink to the nib.
The hardest part might be getting the pen open; there is a joint at the clutch ring, but it could be right-hand threaded (leftie-loosie, rightie-tightie) or left-hand threaded (leftie-tightie, rightie loosie), or glued slip-fit, depending on your pen's version. There is more information in my
X-Pen profile.
Thanks Richard!!!I read the information on your site which is my first stop (along with PEN HERO) when i need information. Mine is a DOUBLE LAMINE right handed thread which i must admit may not be an X-PEN.The clip says WATERMAN and the metal cartridge has a small door like opening at the top .I checked out MAX Davises site but he does not show the insides of the XPEN.
When i get a chance i will post some pics .I know that always helps .
