One of two new designs i am going to add to my collections. What do people think?
This one is in grenadill. The nib is semiflex steel from Lou Metcalf. The pen is 138 mm
and 160 mm over all. Pen diameter is 12 mm. Pen weighs 18 grams.

Nice shape and material. You may want to consider a different type of section (non-metalic) as some folks find the metal ones hard to hold.

Are you selling these? If so, how much and how long to get one? Nice looking pen!!! What kind of wood is it? Does the cap post?

Donnie

edited to add question about posting the cap

Yes i do sell them Donnie. This week both new designs and full info will be available on the web, you will find some info on the web site Click here!
The pens are made from rare woods. This one is Grenadill, African blackwood. You can choose from over 40. I will be adding some new, very rare and interesting woods this week. At the moment unless you buy from the shop where pens are available immediately then please allow 4 weeks to made and be delivered to your door. Post to USA is 19 dollars. The pen does not post . Thanks for your interest.

Beautiful, minimalistic designs! Less is more!

Capped it is stunning.

I'm not altogether convinced by the metal section, but I doubt wood would be a suitable material for the section (staining issues on filling). /shrugs.

I could probably be tempted by one of these. Oh dear.

Nothing new from me either - I really like the shape and finish, but don't like the section.

I'd also love to know if it posts. Unfortunately I'm one of those idiots who runs a grave risk of losing the d... cap if it isn't posted embarrassed_smile.gif

Also - don't hesitate to make full use of the Marketplace if you want to get in touch with a prospective market smile.gif
(The Green Board over on Pentrace serves a similar purpose)

thanks for the info Ruaidhrí, unfortunately it doesn't post post but it could but you would loose the aesthetics.

i will look at making a hard rubber section in the future so that may be a solution for those who don't like metal. but again i am not sure whether for example a black section will look aesthetically pleasing with different coloured woods.

'oh dear', guess thats the price. sorry folks the exchange rate with the dollar basically doubles the price even though i imagine 1 dollar pretty much buys you the same as one euro.

thanks for the feedback and kind words folks. much appreciated.

Congratulations, a nice streamlined "design"pen, beautiful material.
I equally would prefer a non metal section.
What about making the section from black ebonite, which would mate perfectly with the black wood.
Posting would surely add value to the pen, although making the barrel end smaller in diameter would probably break the nice sleekness of the pen.

I like the looks of this pen, in general, particularly capped. I don't like the long skinny section. I don't much care that it's metal, but I don't like the shape.

I was looking at the grain. Is this pen clearcoated or anything like that? Or can you feel the grain?
aurrida
the grain was left semi open to add character but its smooth to feel. the finishing is pretty flexible so a number of things can be achieved. interestingly i am thinking of finding an artist to do some work on a pen. still very much in the thinking and talking stage.

i am working on a new design that has a black section that will follow a more classic design perhaps in hard rubber. i will have a go at making the design here with the new section, its larger but the only thing i am not happy with is i can't get a silver/chrome band for the cap, yet, only black. again it will be difficult to make it post and not lose the shape, but i think it will give more options to experiment.

If this pen posted it would so be home with me even with the dollar sucking.

Love the look of the pen
