The Chicago Pen Show, sponsored by Krone and co-sponsored by Stylus along with Parker Pen, the PCA, Century Pens, Total Office Products and the Westin O”Hare is getting closer and things are really heating up. Here are some quick announcements.
The hotel is filling up but anyone who still needs a room will be taken care of and at the special rate of $131.00 per night. If the national reservation line (1-800-westin1) does not acknowledge the rate, call the hotel direct at (847) 698-6000. Ask for Catherine Mayotte or Jaynie Phillips and they will take care of you. You can also try going to our web site at www.chicagopenshow.com, click on the “Hotel” button and make a reservation on line.
We have received a number of inquiries about registering at this late date. Only those people interested in tables really need to pre-register at this time. Anyone wishing to attend the show can register at the hotel upon arrival. The fees are listed on our web site as is all of the hotel information. As for tables, we always have last minute cancellations and some extra tables so anyone still interested in a table should contact me directly at dlpens@comcast.net and I will try to accommodate you.
The Parts and Tools auction scheduled for Friday night should be fun and worthwhile for collectors and repair people. There will be many nibs available, lots of Parker Duofold, Vac, 51 and 75 parts, including an exc. 1st year Duofold cap; Wahl Eversharp caps and barrels etc., many Swan parts, many Waterman parts; and lots of Sheaffer parts; lots of Conklin parts as well as misc. brands; and many pressure bars, sections, feeds desired by collectors. Tools will include a Montblanc tool kit with a lot of special tools for the repair of Mbs; many original Parker tools etc. Some photos of lots are shown on our site at this time but the site is being updated almost daily.
Note that the schedule is subject to change and already the show will close at around 4:30 on Saturday night and not at 6:30. The times of various seminars are still be finalized. The pizza party sponsored by Judd Perlson, dessert party sponsored by Gregory H. Sachs and the appetizer party sponsored by the Westin O’Hare remain unchanged.
I have many more announcements to make and I will continue to do so over the next week. We look forward to another great show
