On the way is a classic green with medium italic nib from the incomparable Pam Braun.

I was on my way to a Stipula Etruria when the 100 diverted my course; mostly because of a CS ballpoint that I bought and reading this forum.

I am a little wary of an italic nib but wanted a pen that would create something different than the typical M nibs that I have now in other pens.

My preference is wet and smooth - is that a reasonable expectation with the 100 italic nibs?

Yes. I have a Nelson EF and a Drake IF and they are both ultra-smooth wet writers. The CS line comes with very large 18ct nibs and I haven't had a problem with them yet.

If you decide the italic isn't to your liking, Mary Burke can assist you in getting it swapped for another size or type.

Let us know when it arrives, a pic and comment or two would be greatly appreciated.

My only experience of the 100 is handling them at shows and that was enough to prove to me that they're too big for my liking. I've got an italic fine nib on one of my Dandys and as already said, it's a wet smooth nib, although not quite as smooth as the ordinary CS nibs which I guess is only to be expected. From my point of view as a lefthander, it's not really noticeable from my writing that I've been using an italic nib.
