Hey everyone,

Im in the process of trying to find my dad a nice pen for his birthday. He's turning 55, does a tone of writing at work, but is LEFT handed. I really have no idea as to what he might like more, or might be more practical...rb, bp or fountain. Im currently a student so my budget is limited, max $200.

I know Costco sell Montblanc Generation Pens for under $200 in RB & BP...are these any good?

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Mike

I believe this kind of post belongs to the Writing Insturments section, however the MontBlanc pens (even if they aren't good, but they should be) still shows that you care.

I believe you can find a Waterman 55 in your price range. I'm certainly biased toward vintage Waterman pens, but the 55 is not only a great pen, it has a 55 stamped on the bottom of the barrel, which would make a nice reminder for your dad of the occasion for the gift.

If I was looking for a 55, I would contact Joel Hamilton at http://ink-pen.com/ .

Best regards, greg

Forget Montblanc if you are on a tight budget! rolleyes.gif

If he is left-handed and not used to writing with FP's, it might not be a very good idea to give him a pen with gold nib as he is likely to press quite a lot on the nib.
