Swisher Pens is now selling two new Baystate colors, Cape Cod Cranberry and Concord Grape. The Cranberry is not waterproof, while the Grape has partial water resistance. Both have the higher PH values that look to be typical of the Baystate 1946-styled formulas. And there is the disclaimer about possible staining, as well.

I think I need to try these. Besides, even a partial resistant purple is better than not at all. If I like it, it will be my new purple.

The Concord Grape looks amazing - what a wonderful purple! Hopefully the colour is as rich as the Blue.

The Grape seems like it might be a mix of the Baystate Blue and the Cape Cod Cranberry, especially if you look at the waterproof nature.

I added them to my cart at Swisher. I don't see them up on Pendemonium's site yet.

Snatched up big bottle version of the grape at the Boston Pen show. Met Nathan and had a laugh about the controversies regarding his inks. He was selling the Grape with one of his eyedropper pens so you could test it in a clear plastic barrel before putting it in a beloved pen. In the end he laughed dressed in an immaculate gray suit, white shirt and tie, and shook my hand with rainbow colored fingers and said something like like "I don't get whats so bad about staining anyway."

Just when I'm trying to cool off my expenditures Nathan has to go and lead me into temptation. I love BSB so much I won't be able to resist buying these inks. I'm doomed.

Yep, I know. And here I thought my pen order from Swishers was going to be just a little one. rolleyes.gif

I'm really torn about these inks. As with Nikita, I'm not sure I'll ever buy the cranberry because I just don't have much use for red tones. Then again, I wonder if a mix it myself purple would be the better course than buying the grape. If so, buying the cranberry and some additional BSB might be the way to go. I'd love to know if the grape really is a straight mix of those two. It looks to me like that is very possible, but I'm not sure. I could get some use out of the grape.

I'd love to see the line expand to include a Superchrome-looking blue-black and a nice green. Here's hoping this isn't the last of the Bay State inks! smile.gif
