This is a cool little gadget, a Tamron 500mm Mirror lens. It is extremely short and light despite having an incredibly high focal length. It is built like a parabolic mirror, hence the name. The lens is all manual and the case is sturdy metal. Minimal focusing range 1.7 meters. There is just one F stop: 8 (mirror lenses don't have an F stop ring with different positions anyway).

The lens connects to any Nikon SLR camera (digital as well as analog) but you will need to focus manually also using the "M" exposure program (I don't think that AF mirror lenses were ever available). It looks like new and has only been used a couple of times. No scratches and no dings!
I have used it on my F5 and my D100 without problems.

The lens fits currently only Nikon. However, the section ring is removable and can be replaced with an adapter that allows connecting the lens to Canon or Minolta. This adapter is NOT included in this sale but can be bought.

There are two things that are nice about this lens:
1. incredible tele effect and yet the lens is short and light (F8 is best used for the outside anyway)
2. when playing with different layers of focus in your picture, the area that is blurred is not just blurred (like normally) but will have little concentric blurred rings all over. This is a very nice effect that you can only achieve with a mirror lens.
