Full Version: Who will get the Thousandth Letter?

Just for fun and to keep a little organized when I started writing letters with the Pentrace snail list I kept track of the number of letters I sent.

Well right now I am working on letter number 997.

I don't think about how much the postage or paper or ink cost but about the several friendships I have forged over many years of writing. I have been lucky enough to meet two people I write with over the years. And have not kept track of the people who have stopped writing to me.

I hope it has been as fun for the people that I correspond with as it has been for me.

As I find that communication is not really possible, people are only sharing experiences, opinions and ideas, I could not correspond with people for very long.
So, what are you writing all the time?

I, for one, have thoroughly enjoyed our correspondence thusfar. 1,000 letters sent...my goodness! How many years does that cover, Kurt?

I'll have to go back but I think it has been about 10 years. So only a hundred a year.

I'm sort of confused but what is communication but sharing experiences, opinions and ideas.

==================
This is interesting... communication, technically would be the transfer of information... so my telling you my experiences and your telling me your opinions
would be, you know, communication. Perhaps you are talking about deeper levels of communication... hopes, dreams, pain, love sorrow, loss, exultations?
That all depends on the two letter writers. Some prefer more of a "this is my new Parker 51 and today I'm using Levenger Cobalt in it." Others
talk about family, life, politics, music, art, literature, food, animals... It would seem that communication is possible, it's just a question of finding
someone on your wavelength.
What do I write about?
politics, food, daily life, art, music, travel, movies, tv, literature, pets, gardening, family, plans and schemes, hopes and dreams, history, shopping, hobbies,
work, collecting, photography and of course there's always ___________________ (Insert your topic here)

It depends on the person I am writing to and how long I have been in correspondence with the said person.............it gets fuzzy actually.........in one case I have shared my deepest secrets/fears/highs/lows with one snail mail pal after just a few letters.......you want to do that with some people. smile.gif
