Hi, I just got a Pelikano in F and I've got a few questions:

1. My F nib is even wider than my Pilot V-pen's M nib, is it normal?

2. I figure the pen sometimes skip, do you have the same issue?

3. What is a good ink to go with the pen, I'm filling it with Pelikan Brilliant Brown and will try some others later.

Thanks!

Ken, my Pelikanos (I have an F and an M) do run a little on the wide side. I have not had problems with skipping, though, so I don't know if that's normal. It might settle down after you've used it for a while. I always used Pelikan cartridges in mine until I discovered the world of ink smile.gif but even so I tend to use Pelikan, Waterman, or Lamy in mine.

Hi, I have a couple of Pelikano that I enjoy especially because they are good workhorse. Excellent nib and quality materials IMHO.

Yes, the line on Pelikan is generally wider than Japanese pens, although it is thinner compared to Lamy and (modern) Parker.
And again yes, the second of my pelikanos initially was skipping... but that was cured after a couple of days of notes.

I have one black and one red Pelikanos, and the red is almost always in my bag. Of course it has some Pelikan Brilliant Red, which I find excellent to highlith dates and important notes.

Cheers,
Ovidius

I had some minor skipping issues when I first bought my Pelikano a few weeks ago, but it works very well now. After a few days of writing, it stopped skipping and has worked fine since, I was using Pelikan Royal Blue in the long cartridge. If the problem had continued, I would have tried Waterman Florida Blue as it seems to work very well in all of my pens.
