Up for sale is a professional microphone, the classical AKG C-414 B-ULS. This is an extremely precise condensator microphone with a gold-coated double membrane. Its recording profile results in a purist sound, very close to what you hear, very good for classical music. In fact, it is so susceptible that even the tiniest bits of ambient noise are picked up. Therefore the accompanying holder is used to alleviate ambient vibrations.
The mike was bought in Germany about 8 years ago and has been stored properly in its hard case. It comes with the holder and a black foamy jacket (to protect it from saliva when used for a singer) in its hard case.
It retails for about $900 in the U.S. MSRP is something a bit above $1000. The mike is in excellent condition. There is no wear anywhere on it. It has been used for 10 hours of recording session by me (I recorded a CD with piano music once) back in 2000.
Various switches allow for fine tuning. Ask me if you need details. It would take to long to list everything here in detail.
This one can find its way into the basement of an aspiring musician for $550 shipped CONUS.
I will shortly be advertising/selling a 2 way microphone pre-amp by the British maker "Focusrite" which is known for its professional quality standards. With this pre-amp you can record in true stereo. The AKG C-414 needs a good pre-amp, otherwise its exceptional studio quality is lost. It also needs 48V phantom electricity (which the Focusrite or any other professional pre-amp supplies). I will sell the pre-amp for $460. If you want to take both, I will let them go for $960 shipped CONUS.
