The biggest use of my FPs right now is writing the script of Celerity, an online superhero graphic novel. It was inspired by the desire to write a comic that my tween daughters would like, with a young female heroine who was not a male fantasy cheesecake model. My girls like superheroes, but a lot of the female characters leave a lot to be desired.
My artist, a friend of mine name Levi, has really been nailing down the visual style of the main characters, Here are some reference drawings of Jane Haides, Celerity herself.

We'd both love to hear any feedback you might have.

Nice artwork. Wish I had that kind of talent.

Excellent drawing, except that the left one does not look much feminine.
What is the story about?

Jane Haides starts to notice that she is getting faster. A lot faster. During a flood, the is the only one close enough to help an injured motorist and her two young children. Not wanting to be recognized and turned into a lab guinea pig, she pulls her brother's paintball mask over her face, and uses her exceptional speed to get them to safety before the car can be washed away.
She likes helping so much that she ends up doing more of it, and becomes known to the people of her city as Celerity.
Jane doesn't know the origin of her abilities, but there are people who do - and they notice the teen girl on the news, showing abilities that no normal person should possess. When they learn who she is, everything goes to heck.
I don't want to give away too much, but that's the setup.

A typical 'hero' story. The fun will probably be in the details. Good luck with writing, its fun.

OK, what pen, nib, ink and paper do you use?
I like this idea.
Saw Horton hears a ... couple weeks ago and enjoyed but realized I'd never take a girl child to see it as the females were only background noise... the 90+ sisters... or the Bad character.
Nim's Island a better movie for girls.
Now back to your story.

YEA!! So good to hear that you want to go in this direction for the heroine...i totally respect you for that. It's really nice to see that there are people out there who aren't sucked into the popular culture 'machine'!
I think the drawings look feminine...even the one on the left. Anyone who has a difficult time seeing the feminine in these drawings is, i'm sorry to say, sucked into the popular culture 'machine'.

I finished the first draft.
Two notebooks full, entirely written with a fountain pen.
Wow.
