Did it take a couple of days after submitting the order .... YEAH !!

I got the Kip version for the large Moleskine, and it is magnificent. Mine is numbered 344. The cover is elegant in its simplicity, and the workmanship ... awe inspiring. Wonderfully fragrant leather and very tactile. For those of you familiar with Hartman leather products, Kip's color is similar in appearance to Hartman's undyed leather. Does the cover fit like a glove ... ohhh ya.

Okay ... in the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit I simply could not resist. You see, it was just a few weeks ago that I received my Renaissance Art Moleskine cover which is likewise magnificent for much of the same aforementioned reasons. How do I rationize this ... well, I can't. I plan to enjoy both, the RenArt has unruled Moleskine pages, and the Kip has ruled pages. If I had to pick one over the other ... no way.

I can't wait for them to make a cover for a quality notebook instead of the Moleskin rubbish. New stock arrived here locally so thought I would try again. Same disappointment with paper quality. I formally give up on Moleskin until someone tells me their problems are over.

Sorry to hear about your Moleskine issues; certainly they're not perfect when it comes to paper quality and consistency. Just curious ... which Moleskinie alternative notebooks would you like to see gfeller accomodate? Also, I have a RenArt Moleskine cover which is equally superb, and it's my understanding RenArt will accomodate any size you specify for any notebook.

I have a couple of moleskin covers from Renart - superb.

I can't believe they (or others) don't make a standard A5 and A5 (international standards) covers. I know you can have make to order but should just be standards. Suppose it has a lot to do with US being the odd ones out paper size wise and a huge market.

No! But you could try Re-Art in the US. You must speak to them first though about the carriage as it looks expensive. I am told that they will find you a cheaper method of shipping. I have a cover for the large Moleskine from there and it is great.

Two or three weeks ago someone was selling a cover for the pocket-sized Moleskine in the market place. I don't know if it went or not.

I'm a recent Gfeller customers and was amazed at the product quality. I purchased a small field case that holds a large Moleskine or two and has pencil and scale loops on the front. Their products are in a whole different class the the Ren Art stuff. The Ren Art stuff is nice enough but the oily leather is too soft for my taste and most of what I own now goes unused.

G Feller cases were designed for working professionals, surveyors, geologists, etc... and are far heavier in cosnstruction than anything out there. This is a case made to last a lifetime. The cases are made from heavy, top grain, tooling typw leather. I've been doing leatherowrk myself for years from holsters to my current razor strop busines and would be hard pressed to match this level of workmanship.

I am ordering a modified version of their Utility Bag as my daily briefcase as well as a Moleskine cover. Steve and Lori are a pleasure to deal with and customer service cannot be beat. Lori rushed my case to me in time for a trip and made it clear up front that if I was unhappy for any reason just to send it back. That won't be happening here for sure.

That's a shame. I love the stuff. I would certainly have a lot more of it if it were not for the fact that I have to buy in small quantities to bring it under the duties threshold. At the moment the postage is nearly half the cost of what I am buying. Not RenArt's fault admittedly. Have you considered letting someone else have the benefit of what you don't want, perhaps through the marketplace? It usually get snapped up quickly at the right price!

As I continue to clean house I will likely ofer up the remaining Ren Art stuff. A large Moleskine cover, a large Moleskine pouch with snap flap lid and the same in Pocket sized.

Nice enough leather but just not my thing anymore. I work with leather daily and as I try different types my tastes change.

I've got lots of vintage typewriters and slide rules to list on other groups too so it will be a while till I photograph and list the covers.
