I spend most sunday mornings cruising a local flea market. Years ago I'd find at least four or five fountain pens every week, now I find them just once or twice a year. Today was one of the good days. Three Parker 51's.
one demi in cocoa, looks nice
one vac in black, cap is stuck on at the moment
one vac in brown, I like this one.
Pete
I think that cordovan brown is a nice color too, more like a dark maroon, really.

Paul, you lucky bastard!!

I go to the flea-market in the next surburb every Sunday morning, just about, to search for fountain pens. I rarely come away empty-handed.

That's a great score on those 51s.

Good find!
Any day you can pick up a "51" cheap is a good day!

I got all three for fifty bucks. I really like the brown Vac, probably have to send it out for a good rebuild.

I like the black ones smile.gif I found a '51' at a flea-market once. It was in a box with a '51' pencil as well and the box was original. $30 for it. Need to repair the '51' before it'll work, though. New breather-tube...

Nice find, Paul! thumbup.gif

I'm kinda jealous though. The only fp I found on a recent trawl of the local fleamarket was a grey parkette deluxe with a broken j-bar, bent nib, completely brassed trim, bent clip & completely ossified sac.

The asking price? $60. roflmho.gif

I gave that one a miss...

That's a great haul!

I had a productive flea market run about a month ago...

I sumgai'ed:

1 Parker 45
1 Parker 51 Special w/ a missing cap
1 Esterbrook J w/ a bad sac
1 Esterbrook LJ w/ a bad sac
1 Esterbrook LJ (icicle)
1 Esterbrook Dollar Pen w/ a bad sac and a bent clip
1 Esterbrook LK "Deluxe"
1 Esterbrook Phaeton 300
2 Sheaffer Finelines
1 Artus Ballit 42m

For about $60 total from one vendor that had a mess of pens just lying in one tray. I must've spend 2 hours sifting through that pile (and about 3 days soaking and cleaning the ones I bought).

I saw a Venuses, Wearevers, Sheaffer school pens, and a Eversharp 5th Avenue (alas, the hood was in bad shape) in there.

I found what I think was a Sheaffer Targa desk-pen at the flea-market yesterday. I found a nice, white marble two-pen desk-set. I would've bought them, but I wanted to have two sheaffer desk pens instead of one. I couldn't find the other pen, so I decided against buying it.

Paul,

That is truly an amazing haul of quality pens. Well done!

That's the type of find I'm dreaming about when I go picking through yard sales this summer.

Nice!

Wondered where you'd been hiding.
