Easily made with Permastone, black dye, and synthetic felt. The socket diameter with felt came out just right to hold the Ink Pot securely but let it be removed with one hand -- I molded it with a plastic tube w/ outside diameter of about 1.8 cm.

Thanks! It was fun -- my first casting. I'm going to make a few more with different materials and color patterns.

Could you describe the process in greater detail? I can't quite interpret the picture.. is the permastone stand like a donut?

I cast a ring shape using a silicone mold: poured in the Permastone, then stirred with a toothpick dipped in black plastics dye. When this hardened I put felt in the hole, to grip and protect the Traveling Ink Pot, and three vinyl bumps on the bottom as feet to protect the desk and elevate the Permastone ring slightly. The Ink Pot pushes through the hole to hit the desk, so that the assembly is very stable. I designed it so that the ring's top surface lines up with one of the engraved rings on the Ink Pot.
