Pen #5

Crisp mint Platinum. Black with gold trim. Sweet big 18K gold nib.

Pen #6
Platinum 18
Interesting pen with the gold inlay over the nib, and the map of Japan mark. I have heard that in 1970 Pilot and Platinum donated pens to the Japanese Census workers and the mark was placed on these pens. Others say it is the logo for Nihon University, and the school had these pens made and gave them out at graduations.
$55
Pen #7
1950's Believe
One of Japan's obscure, but quality pen makers. A nice urushi lacquer pen with a taper ended barrel. Looks a little like a urushi Eversharp Skyline when the lacquer cap is closed over the pen. It is a lever filler with a nice springy shiro nib. A great calligraphy pen. The lacquer is in great condtion, but the clip and capbands are worn.
$50
Pen #8
1950's Practice
Another obscure Japanese maker. The pen has a urushi lacquer cap and barrel, but the lacquer is very worn as is the clip and capbands. A very nice flexy nib though and the pen still has a lot of life. Japanese eyedropper filler.
$30
Pen #9
1950's Believe.
Interesting celluloid pattern. Cap ring is gone. Clip looks worn, but a nice flexy shiro nib. Japanese eyedropper filler
$25
Pen #10
1950's Vanco
Vanco was one of Japan's leading pen makers after the big three. This is a very rare Piston filler. One of the few vintage Japanese piston fillers that I have seen. Part of the barrel has a clear celluloid or bakelite window to see the ink inside. The rest of the barrel is urushi lacquer. Very nice springy shiro nib. Clip and capband are well worn.
$150
Pen #11
1950's SSS
One of Japan's leading pen makers after the big three. Hard rubber with urushi lacquer, but the lacquer is well worn and the big cap band is brassed. Nice springy shiro nib.
$75
Pen #12
1930's Junkel
Very obscure Japanese maker. Lever filler, ready to fill and write. I am not sure if the material is red hard rubber or celluloid. metal trim has wear spots. Very nice flexy shiro nib. A great writer.
$150
Pen #13
1930's Fujiya
A company mostly known for their cake shops and family resturants, but back before the war they also made pens. Cap and barrel are hard ruber with urushi lacquer. The nib is an interesting 14K gold incased in a metal holder. Japanese eyedropper
$100
Pen $14
1930's Heiwa
Very large Duofold style pen. Hard rubber cap and barrel covered in rich urushi lacquer. The cap and barrel are in excellent shapre, but the section was not lacquered and the hard rubber has oxidized. The nib has a big #3 14K gold Pilot flex nib. Japanese eyedropper filler.
