Has anyone else noticed that it is much easier to flush Noodler's inks out of a pen than other, non waterproof inks? I am speaking her of my experience with the following:
Zhivago
Old Manhattan
Ellis Island
Lexington Gray
Walnut
as opposed to:
PR Sherwood
PR Fiesta Red
PR Dakota Red
MB Violet
MB Season's Greetings
MB Black Cherry
MB Racing Green
MB Black
PR American Blue
PR DC Supershow Blue
J. Herbin Black Pearl
PR Ultra Black
Caran d'Ache Grand Canyon
the list goes on
Anywho, I just find that flushing pens (CdA Ecridor, Pilot Knight, Van Gogh, Bexley Americana...) takes half the amount of time if I am cleaning Noodler's out of them. Am I insane? Mother, if you are reading this, please refrain from comment unless it has to do with ink...

Kathryn, I left the products in your quote that I also have and therefore can comment upon. And I guess my answer is that no, I don't have the same experience. I find MB and Herbin very easy to flush out, but certain Noodler's colors almost impossible. The ones on your list are all right, but Legal Lapis for instance, and SwishMix Bordeaux, take forever. MB Racing Green is one of the easiest colors to wash out for me... Don't know how to explain such a difference in experiences, sorry!

Kathryn, I haven't had direct experience with the inks on your list, but I have used the following Noodlers:
Navajo Turquoise
Ottoman Azure
both of which I have found more difficult to flush from a pen than any of the following:
Aurora Blue
J Herbin Verte Empire
Rohrer & Klingner Sepia
Diamine Umber
Diamine Monaco Red
Not sure why the results should be so different from yours and it isn't enough of a problem to stop me using Noodlers, particularly the Navajo Turquoise, which is currently my favourite ink.

Maybe I am just doing it wrong... Oh well. Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, I concur with Q.M. Some Noodler's (particularly the ones with heavy surfactant) gets behind the piston and thus is difficult to clean. Who knows what it's doing inside the feed. SM Burg, Lex Grey, Legal Lapis, Verdun are ones that stand out in my mind.

My suggestion is that it has to do with the water in your particular area.
Its a well known fact that "hard" water, that is water with high mineral deposit content, particularly calcium forms insoluble compounds with soap and detergents when that are added to the water. Often seen as soap film or soap scum on tubs etc, or fine curd like formations in the washing machine
I'm sure similar reactions are possible with inks and would likely account for the disparate experiences people have with Noodlers.

I think I have to do an experiment now using my hard tap water and distilled water.
