Hi,

I was wondering if there are any refills for this rollerball pen. Besides the usual Pelikan refill I get, I wanted something more smooth like gel refills. The Pelikan refills seem to bleed through paper. I am a newbie pen enthusiast and purchased this pen as my daily writer. Thanks in adavance.

If you actually mean the Rollerball (in some countries they call the ballpoints RBs as well) Schmidt (spelling may be off) do a variety of refills that will fit, readily available in the US but not so much elsewhere, also a bit cheaper than Pelikan if you live in the UK, I think you are pretty much stuck with Pelikan.

Pilot G2 refils fit into Pelikan rollerballs. They're gel, and come in several colours.

I didn't know that...good tip. Maybe it's time to stop overlooking those RB's!

Thanks for the tip, I didn't realise and they are less than half the price of Pelikan ones.

I just bought a Pelikan R250 rollerball on an online auction. It is a beautiful pen, but I have bought both G2 and Uniball gel refills for it, and both types do not fit: the "nib" section on these refills is .02mm larger in diameter than the end of the pen, and that is enough to prevent them from being used. Does anyone know if Schmidt ceramic refills will fit this pen?

The Pelikan refills are rather expensive...

I'm sorry to hear that. G2 refills indeed are slightly wider at the tip and slightly shorter than the Pelikan refills. On the other hand, they do fit into my Pharo rollerball, so I didn't think it would be a problem, and I saw people here saying they use the G2s in other Pelikan rollers... I was planning to get another Pelikan roller to carry in my pants' pocket, now it seems I'll have to rethink that.

When I was first looking for a replacement refill for the one that came with my roller, the lady at the office supply store offered me a generic 'ceramic pen' refill. Those are of the exactly the same size as the Pelikan ones, but most of them are also of dubious quality, so I was really happy when it turned out I can use the G2 ones... Darn.

I've never used the Schmidt refills, so I can't comment on them.

The Pilot Q7(needlepoint) will fit exactly, as opposed to the larger diameter tip G2. Plus, it gives the Pelikan a retro "stylographic" pen look.
With a bit of careful trimming, a variety of Sarasa, Pentel, Uni Ball gels will work great. My current favorite is a "trimmed" Jetstream in my lizardskin pattern 200 roller.
Hope this helps!
