Anyone seen this yet?

Looks interesting. If any one has one, I would be interested in knowing what you think as well. These look great for me kids!

I think there should be a pressure-sensor built into the pen. If the nib's pressed too tight, the section contracts and two metal contacts inside the pen connect, creating a circuit which would activate an emergency LED & siren which would indicate to the writer that he is exerting too much force.

Interesting, I wonder if cash strapped school districts will spring for them. My money is against it. I'll be curious to see where Staedtler thinks the market is for these. Europe?

... an electric spark neutralizes the writer until an instructor can pick up a (wooden) ruler and knock it out of his hand, thereby instilling discipline and proper respect for the power of the pen.

Probably, my public elementary school in the Netherlands handed its average students Bruynzeel fountain pens and the poor students got Lamy ABCs to learn how to write after the pencil stage.

Although this looks intriguing, I wish Staedtler would put together a non-student pen. I used their pigment liner drafting pens for a while and they were spectacular. They didn't shock the writer or spray an irritant liquid or anything, but nobody's perfect.

Nice. Kinda looks like a Pelikano Jr. with a Rotring Core cap. thumbup.gif

Neat! I have a little guy (4) who will be starting to learn to write soon. Well, soon-ish. He could probably learn it now, if he were interested.

Either way, this could be a great thing for him. Plus, he gets to write like Dad - always a bonus when you're 4.

Yeah, but it is a Core cap WITHOUT the tennis shoe inlay...and that's a good thing.

From my experience with Staedtler products, this will be a quality pen. It will be (slightly) more expensive than its competitors, but will be worth it...(I use Staedtler CD Markers and Dry/Wet erase markers exclusively).
