I returned my black Parker 51 Special Edition to the "factory" for repair. They returned it saying they no longer carry the parts since the pen was discontinued a couple of years ago. Guess this is not surprising since the letter is on Rubbermaid letterhead. They did "generously" offer to sell me any current pen at 25% off SRP. The threads were very thin so I guess I should have been more careful. Does anyone have a solution for a fix, modification or a spare barrel? Thanks.

Let's clarify something first...

Is this an original 51 Special, or the cartridge/converter-filler 51 Special Edition?

It is the cartridge/converter-filler that was introduced a few years ago. Thanks

That's a shame, Bill; I'm a little surprised that they don't carry the backstock of parts for them, though. Seems like that probably wasn't Parker's brightest customer service move.
