As I was surfing the Shanghai Hero (Group) Ltd. web site, the folks that own Hero Pen, makers of the Hero 100, I found that they also have Platinum Pen as one of their subsidiaries. It appears Hero is also into a lot more than just pens. I am sure this has been written up here before but I didn't know this. It was just a curiosity.

It's news to me.

My impression is that Hero Platinum is just one of the lines of Hero pens, nothing to do with Platinum the Japanese company.
Yes, it would be quite funny if "the poor man's pen" owed Platinum, and in turn, Nakaya. [A $600 urushi Hero subsidiary, anyone?]
However, I doubt that this is the case and agree with Dr. Grace.

Thanks for the clarification.
