So far just a brief comment, The aesthetics on this pen are about neutral for me, but in preliminary writing tests I like the feel and line variation provided by the Ti Stub nib. (I'm pretty sure its a 0.9mm) width. Nice sensation of feedback when writing.

Will update with photos and further thoughts on the writing after more extensive use. smile.gif

I've been handed stub nibs or broad italic nibs recently, and I just don't have the pressure or appropriate grip for these nibs.

Me? Extra fine. Fine. A smooth, round point. That works for me.

Anyway, looking forward to the photos.

Ether and Rapt,

I love the the italics, and have been seeking them out on used pens, or at the very least, getting broad nibs to grind them into italics. I confess that they allow me to gain line variation without learning the skill and patience of using a flexible nib (which is my next project).

Ok so closer inspection shows a 1.1 on the nib so I guess that makes it a 1.1mm stub. smile.gif

Here's a photo with writing sample. I like the way this pen writes, provided I pay attention to what I'm doing. No pressure required, BUT the pen must be at the correct angle and not deviate much from that or it gets balky and may leave a thin/dry spot in the text. Not good for finger writers. smile.gif

I have one in the same color, but a different nib (I know I have a Ti 0.9, but that's on a different pen). It's a great pen, imho.
Rapt
I'm still very pleased with this pen, no flow issues at all.

AND although my taste usually runs to finer nibs I'm surprised at how much I like this one. So much so I've got another in the pipeline (Ti M nib this time.)

Well, it's a pretty pen.

I was handed a... I can't remember (it's late)... stub nib... (it was FANCY)... oh! Visconti Voyager (looked particularly celestial, very very pretty) (I mean handsome), with Private Reserve Naples Blue (if I'm not remembering correctly, I'll blame the late hour and the shoes left at the door) (pretty sure it's Naples Blue, though)... and WOW! I really like the shading you can get with a stub nib!

But I'm an extra-fine kindv gal (chick, woman), so barring sudden fame for which a stub nib for fancy signatures would be convenient, I'm sticking to the fine and extra fines. But I can see the appeal! (Of the thicker lines, the italics, the variations.) I can definitely appreciate those... features!

Also... pretty pen...!

Extra fine gal/chick/woman!!!! biggrin.gif

Seriously, I prefer the finer lines too. I recently received some samples of writing from a very nice FPNer using some very fine nibs and they are sooooo nice I'm just torn between trying to choose which one(s) to buy.

I was just curious about the Ti and the stub since Wim and other rave about it and so I decided to try it. The result is being surprised at how much I do like it since I was actually expecting NOT to like it so much.

When the M nib comes I'll see how I feel about that one... I may go for a grind to something narrower on it. smile.gif

Rapt: Where are you finding the old style 22s with Titanium nibs?

Its my secret!!!!

Actually its not really a secret, just keeping eyes open online, Ebay, etc. I've been fascinated by the idea ever since I read about them.

Turns out at least this first one is pretty good.

I finally have mine back from Richard (as I reported in another thread) and love it. I would have spent more money on Stipula products, had the company been more reasonable in their stance vis-a-vis this particular model. I enjoy it now, but did not enjoy the fact that Stipula did not own up to its mistake and exchange the pen for me. Instead, I had to spend additional funds and wait many months to have my pen writing the way it should have written, directly out of the box.

I have many pens in my collection and have enjoyed every single one of them from the outset, with the exception of the Stipula 22. Now that it is in working order, I enjoy it, but it turned out to be the first and last Stipula for me!

Enjoy your collection! smile.gif

I have a Stipula 22 Broad Titanium nib and I think it is too flexible. Moreover, it skips on some papers, like Amalfi paper, with a lot of inks.

I just got my second Stipula Ti ... I'm very happy with it too, although if it was a fine instead of a medium, I'd be ecstatic. biggrin.gif

Considerably more used than the first one, but still a nice looking pen. Pics to follow.

oh and Andrea, if you decide you want to get rid of your "too flexible" Stipula send me a PM. smile.gif
