Nice review. This ink has become one of my favorite non-black/blue colors. I've had no problem using it in several different pens and yes, it does well on Rhodia and Clairefontaine pads. I also noticed that with medium nibs its more of a brown while with a fine nib there's definitely more red in it.

I will have to give the fine nib a try. I have used this ink for nearly a year, and have never had it loaded into anything other than Medium nibbed Lamys.

Beautiful ink. How close to the actual color is the scan? (yes, I realize that each monitor shows colors differently).

Pretty much dead on with my monitor. What I will try to do in the future is attach a color scale to the scan. Once a monitor has been adjusted to show true on the scale, the color of the test scan should also be true.

That is a great scan of this ink! On my monitor it looks exactly as in real life.
This was my first bottled ink along with Quink Black about 3-4 years ago (I had only used cartridges before). I didn't like it for quite a while, but I rediscovered it and find it to be distinctive. The only bad side is that it looks a little like dried blood, especially coming from a fine nib pen.
Burgandy Mist is dark enough that it will work in more formal environments, so I often use it at work. This ink is also somewhat water resistant, in my experience. It leaves a permanant pinkish line if you run the paper under a faucet.
Thanks for the review Punch!
Thanks for the review, this ink looks gorgeous! Now just have to find a PR retailer

On my monitor the sound similar to Herbin Poussière de Lune but much more saturated, obviously!

Hello punch,
very nice colour. I will try to get this ink.
Your new avatar and the bear-image are great.
(I also loved to look at your "dangerous" Castro-Look....

I love this ink too! I have it in my Pilot Vanishing Point and plan in putting it in some of my other pens once they go empty. I recently bought new stationery with ivory paper and burgundy lettering and this matches perfectly. It's a much richer color than Mont Blanc Bourdauex which was my previous go-to for burgundy ink.

Got a bottle of this ink today and i love it. I always used Waterman Florida Blue as my everyday ink but got bored with it. I'm going to try Burgundy Mist now. It's different without being too flashy...it looks really great.

Sheesh! My bottle of Burgundy Mist looks nothing like this. I wish it did. It's a washed out color with more pinkish orange tones than anything else. Must have gotten a bad bottle.
