Since I had a cigar box on hand, and mulberry paper, I decided to see what
I could create. The box was from some Onyx cigars I had bought a few years
back.

Getting the mulberry paper on the box at first presented a few problems, but
I was able to get them all worked out. After 8 coats of ModPodge it looks
pretty good.

I wanted space to put a couple of bottles of ink as well as a dozen pens. The
top tray was made from foam core board covered on the outside with mulberry
paper to match the box The inside of the tray is lined with felt. The dividers are
made from 3/8 inch balsa covered with felt. It fits snuggly yet is easy to lift out.

The inside of the box is lined with felt as well with dividers for the pens made
the same as I did for the tray. The ink bottle compartments was made from
felt and foam core board.
There are somethings that I would have done differently in retrospect, but since
I live in an apartment and have no workshop I'm pretty limited to what I can do
at my desk or the kitchen counter. All in all I'm pleased with the results. I'm not
nearly as creative as my wife Becky is, but she encourages me to play with things
and helps me out with advice when I need it.
Thanks for the idea ArPharazon!
