For me, the Pelikan 800 has a more classic styling and looks better than the 625.

I really like my black 805, but it can get a little long for some shirt pockets. It is about the right length for me (I write uposted). This might sound silly, but the little green ink window is one of my favorite things about the pen.
I think the 625s are nice, but they have too much metal for my tastes. And I like the two-tone nib.
Really the choice comes down to fit and appearance. I would follow my gut instinct.

I'd also go with the m800. It's a truly classic pen, nigh unchanged for many years now, and it has a plastic section, which I much prefer to the m625's silver section. Also, the m800 has Pelikan's brass piston, which I prefer for unknown and probably irrational reasons. Still, the m800 is the quintessential Pelikan, in my opinion, and it would be no contest if it were my money.
All that said, both pens are superb, and you'll likely be very happy with whatever choice you make. Let us know.

The 625's slippery metal grip section would dissuade me, and I'd choose the 800 between the two.

Have you held/used both pens, or at least something from each series? If not, and if you can get a 600 and an 800 in your hands, do so before you order. IMHO both pens are fantastic, but there is a major (again, IMHO) difference in the size and weight of the pens. You may like both pens, but you might think that the 800 is too heavy and too big, or the 600 is too small or too light.
I would love to have either pen / both pens, but I would use them differently. The 625 would go with me and be used as a daily - wherever I am writer, while the 800 would stay on my desk, at home and be used as a daily writer there. Totally based on size, weight and cost of the two pens, but that's just me and my preferences. Either way good luck, hope you enjoy both the Bird and the Binder.
