Hello,
I was a fountain-pen wierdo years ago, long before the Internet. In order to help finance a purchase in my current mania (acoustic guitars), I found this site yesterday with the express purpose of selling my 1980s vintage Mont Blanc Diplomat and Waterman Le Man 100—which was accomplished within hours, impressing me with this forum immensely.
So in the past 24 hours I've kind of rekindled my interest in fountain pens. I went through my dresser drawers and found the following:
The Pretty Good:
Parker 51 (burgundy and silver)
Pilot (not sure of the name; it's got a wooden body with a gold ring engraved, "Pilot Custom Made in Japan;" nib says "18K-750 [F] Japan H679;" maybe it was just called the Pilot Wood Pen)
The Not-So-Good:
Pelikan 120
Senator Calligraphy Pen
Parker 25
Sheaffer nondescript red-barrel pen
The Antique:
Morrison Black Beauty, complete with original box and printed insert
Sheaffer small green pen ("Sheaffer's" is inscribed on the clip; on the nib it says "Sheaffers Lifetime REG.U.S.PAT. OFF."
I'm going to check out the repair/restoration forum to see if there are any tips on preparing "The Good" pens for use after many years of neglect. But I just wanted to say hi and thanks for the lucrative welcome you folks gave me yesterday. If anyone has an idea whether I "have something" with the two antique pens, I wouldn't mind knowing about it.
Hi and Thanks,
-Bob

Welcome to the forum!. Nice collection of pens. All pens are good if they get to be used and do their job... Try publishing a pic of the Sheaffer at the forum to get help with the identification.

Oh Lord, help me!
Thanks so much for the welcome. I've been nosing around a bit more here today, and it looks like a great group of enthusiastic people. Lead me not into temptation.

Welcome to FPN! You will find lots of enablers here! Don't sell the musical instruments! Just sell a Kidney or gallon of blood to finance that next pen!

Pity me, Joined Yesterday..I love fountain pens and guitars, neither of which addiction my wife understands. I'm thinking of getting addicted to alcohol or drugs..these addictions everyone recognises!

This borders on sacrilege. I have 8 guitars, and many times more pens, but I cannot think of a pen which would inspire me to sell a guitar to buy it. An amplifier, yes, but not a guitar.

I tried to sell a Danelectro Cadet, a Magnatone M401 and a Carvin MTS 3200 2 X 12 on Craigslist recently, but the only people who called live 50-100 miles away (but still in the Dallas/Fort Worth area).

Hello and welcome to FPN. Kick off your shoes and have a stroll around the grounds. There is lots of good information as well as people willing to share information. Heck you might even pick up a pen or two at the Marketplace as well as sell some.
Once again welcome.

Welcome aboard!
Is that Sheaffer by any chance a No-Nonsense? 'Cause people snap them up.

Bob,
Welcome to FPN!
BTW,the "679" on your Pilot pen means it was made in June of 1979.

Hi and welcome too.
Don't sell any pens before you clean and rinse and try them out.
You might be suprised!
