My name is Andy and I've been messing with pens for just a few months. I stumbled across this site while looking for clues on what cartridges go with which pens. I hope I've come to the right plance.

Look forward to getting to know you a bit and getting educated!

All good wishes!

Hi Andy and welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

Thanks for posting a "hello" in this thread. Now...the question that is on everyone's mind laugh.gif... What kind of pens do you have in your collection (even if it's just a collection of one)? smile.gif

My pens? I'm new at this so it is a little embarrasing to be among such experts. You will have to tell me what some are. (At least what to look for) Also, some of the print is too small for me to read and I don't have a magnifyer handy but here goes:

2 Green Waterman Phileas, 1 fp 1mp
1 Black plastic Parker white dot with gold trim
Gold Cross mp with black crown
Parker Insignia mp
Sensa Champagne mp
Rotring Millennium Annual Limited Edition "-4" series, 1996
Cross in pale green plastic
Hero fp burgundy with silver top with horses on it
2 Lamy plastic with steel nibs (red and yellow) mp
Arnold pen/pencil combo in yellow mottle, smallish, lever filled, well chewed
6 cheap plastic Shaeffer's
3 cheap Hero "Worker Bees"
Very long Yaffa pen/pencil combo with crack near nib I'd love to get fixed
Ugly old plastic Pelikan, green and black, missing crown with flat tip nib
Nice old plastic Pelikan, black with gold rings with very fat flat tip nib
Black plastic Osmiroid with strange nib
Black plastic Osmiroid with tan ring and extremely long, pointy, flexible nib

23 out of these 25 work (ink and write) without leaking. I use about 6 regularly.

So far as I know none are rare or valuable. The Arnold is probably the only one pre-1960.

I'm interested in acquiring a fine large Pelikan and an Esterbrook.

I bid from time to time on Ebay but have no good sense of values and most of the time I'm outbid or sniped.

I'm here for education and networking so I read most anything but am baffled by most of it.

I'm contemplating attending the upcoming LA Pen Show so if any on the network are planning to attend, maybe we can meet and say Howdy.

All good wishes,

Andy

Pendemonium has a comprehensive list of cartridge-to-pen matches under "Inks and Refills | Ink Facts"

Steve, I looked but didn't find it. Can you provide a direct link or tips on where on the Pendemonium site to look? I did look at the ink section pretty thoroughly but didn't find a clue.

Hi Andy,

I am not Goodwhiskers tongue.gif (I love that name!) but here is the direct link to the page:

Pendemonium's page on "Ink Facts".

The info on cartridges is at the very bottom of the page----good info!
