I'm awaiting delivery of a vintage Pelikan and wonder if I've got a good deal....

It looks like the one in this link.

Any advice welcomed.

A green 100N, depending on the nib type (gold or steel), the condition of the ink window (clear/clouded/cracked) and any other number of factors (restored/unrestored) can go from anywhere between $250.00 and $395.00.

Make sure you test fill it with water before trying any ink. Sometimes the older pens have the cork piston seal and they can dry out and leak or may need to be replaced.

The Pelikan 100N is perhaps the best design-function compromise in the history of fountain pens. Perhaps the Parker 51 is the only contender. It's a short pen capped, but posted becomes a well balance, light pen which will allow you to write for hours on end. The prices vary depending on cosmetics, nib material and whether the pen has been restored or not. I've seen prices go from around $140 for an unrestored pen with a steel nib to $400 for a mint pen.
