Full Version: Pelikans cause max Extintion!
The Fountain Pen Network > Brand Focus > The Pelikan Forum
Dr Ozzie
On a winter evening, barely six months ago, a lonely Pelikan M400 landed amongst the Parkers and Watermans in Dr. Ozzie’s desk. He nursed and cared for this lonely bird with a diet of Parker Quink and soon many other Pelikan M400s-M800s flooded the desk wanting to be fed the delicious Quink.

Shortly afterwards Dr Ozzie noticed a decrease in the numbers of Parkers and Watermans as the number of Pelikans increased to become the majority. The Parkers and Watermans breathed a sight of relief as this flood of “migrating Pelikans” came to a halt.

However, two months ago a blue Pelikan M200 demo landed on Dr. Ozzie’s desk and was fed some of this delicious Parker Quink. Today a blue marble and a green marble M200 landed on the desk and sightings of a yellow M200 have been confirmed. Scientists are puzzled and believe that more Pelikan M200s may soon migrate as they discover Dr. Ozzie’s unending supply of Quink. The Parkers and Watermans are in fear tonight as their existence is once again threatened by this newer flock of Pelikans. Top scientists now believe that the once abundant Parkers and Watermans will go extinct as they seem unable to compete with the Pelikan flock.

Oh, I thought it was quite clever!

However, Pelikans need reeds to nest among, so I figure my Stipulas are safe (at least).

I loved it, but I couldn't come up with anything both clever and worthy to say in response unsure.gif

Story? What story? It's been my experience that Pelikans multiply more rapidly than rabbits. However, I bet Sailors and Pelikans can co-exist. rolleyes.gif

To prevent further spread of Pelikanization place a "Do not feed the Pelikans" sign anywhere you have access to money.

I loved it!. I just thought that I can become a wild life preservation area if you send me those other pens, you know, just to saven them from extinction....smile.gif

Very clever.

Now when you start writing odes to Pelikans - we'll know you're in serious trouble.

Doc, I liked your story and find Pelikans to an interesting brand. Recently, or I would say over the past five or so years the nibs have changed from softer to harder. I'm not sure why this was done, but it doesn't seem to affect the ability to lay down ink better than most other brands.

Thanks
Dr Ozzie
Update:

There have been sightings of another bird, the Pelikan 100N, flying from Germany to South Florida in route to Dr. Ozzie's desk. This bird for some reason required an ample supply of money due to its condition, but the locals were able to plant enough "money trees" to attract the bird. Dr. Ozzie's desk has been officially designated a National Pelikan Sanctuary where happy flocks congregate to quench their unending thirst for Quink. thumbup.gif

Heard about that 100N - it's a pretty bird and I'm sure it will feel right at home with the other ones!

Ditto!

My Parkers and Sheaffers still out number my Pelikan flock but the birds are the most rapidly growing part of my collection! My new 625 is a big Quink drinker!! Good story, I'm afraid the same thing is happening around here!

Yesterday, I expected a flock of big-and-heavy-rear-ended Canadian geese
occupying the pond in pouring rain as I looked out my 5th floor office window.

What I saw was a rather pretty sight, a pair of swan graciously swimming across the pond..
No Canadian geese in sight..

Whoa!

Then I remembered..

If you need some particular birds out of your area,
You need to put prettier birds there..

So, morale of my stroy is..

"Go get'em, Tiger!" thumbup.gif

Happy bird sighting..
